Why "Songs Kate Sang"? Where did that come from?
Well, when we moved to Arizona, the Psalms were so comforting.
Psalm 121 spoke to my heart each morning. I can remember sitting on our back porch
in the early mornings just pouring my lonely heart out to God
and asking Him why He sent me to the desert, so far from anyone we knew.
After having children, I haven't been a morning person - but with the two hour time difference
I couldn't help waking up with the sun those first few months.
I began reading more and studying more about the Psalms.
I identified with them. I felt that my journey to Arizona was like a Psalm - trusting His plan
for me and not my own desires to run back to Texas, give up and move in with my parents.
So, there it was. I didn't feel that i could call it a 'Psalm'.
That honor was to writers like David. But, I could call it a Song.
