patrick just took elijah to school, they have a pumpkin patch field trip today!
i couldn't go along this morning, and instead of moping about it, i'll show you these cuties:
candy corn marshmallow guys!
i saw them here, and knew i wanted to try them.
instead of white chocolate, i used orange and yellow candy melts.
i've noticed for melting and dipping, i prefer their consistency.
i melted ten or so orange melts, and dipped a few large marshamallows.
after they hardened a bit, i repeated with yellow.
then i took a tube of sparkly black decorator gel and dotted on their tiny eyes.
that's it! so easy and pretty adorable, i think.
elijah was about as interested as i expected. not very. but that's ok.
he did enjoy watching:)
during my little trip to lake placid, i was swayed towards a new thing.
flavored creamer in my coffee. i still love and depend on my black gold cuppas to start my day.
but i have creamer in my fridge now, and i use it for a few cups each day.
it's like dessert, y'all. i have the coldstone sweet cream flavor right now,
any others i should try?
who am i?
speaking of coffee:
patrick and i enjoyed a date at our neighborhood coffee shop.
it was a sweet way to begin a chilly rainy sunday!
afterwards we went to a little church across the bridge in minnesota.
our friend was preaching and it was our first sunday of respite care for elijah!
we are excited about getting back to church. we've been together only once. for a year.
it was excellent. i was reminded that i do often try to manipulate god,
choosing my favorite of his attributes and worshiping him only that way.
that's not right. god isn't only love, he also has wrath, because he is holy. he isn't only holy!
he is also gracious and loving, forgiving and helping us to be more like himself...
i can't edit out the parts of him i don't like, you know?
the greatest news is, we can go to him. and know him! grateful for that today!
let us then with confidence
draw near to the throne of grace,
that we may receive mercy
and find grace to help in time of need.
what did you learn this weekend?
and the handmade holiday market is open! awesome shops with sweet discounts!
