Hi! My name is Sakura and I blog at Studio Koontz. I am a mommy to my 2 year old, and a wife, and a middle school teacher. I am addicted to Instagram (who isn’t?) and I keep an emergency stash of Dove chocolate in my desk at all times.

I blog because it forces me to take photos. Horrible, I know. When I used to have my own photography business, taking pictures was second nature. But when I retired, my sweet Canon sat on the shelf and collected dust…for over three months! Totally ridiculous, considering I am the mother to the cutest baby boy ever. I SHOULD be documenting every little smile and tears. Blogging gave me a reason to get back to what I enjoy the most…taking photos.

I also enjoy giving tips on how to photograph little kiddies. I try to cover a wide range of topics, from manual shooting, lighting, equipment, photoshop, etc. My hope is that moms everywhere would be comfortable with their digital cameras and be able to take the best photos of their little ones. Everybody deserves to have candid, sweet images of their children.
