My blog Daily Dose of Sugar Mama started in 2009 where I share unpredictable slices of my life; 

sometimes humorous & other times a little serious, but always honest :) 

Why the name Sugar Mama? My oldest son gave me the nickname years ago 

because I’m often found in the kitchen baking sweets… and I love eating them! 

I should probably share more of those recipes on the blog... I'll add that to the "to-do" list. :) 

Three kids ages 15, 13, and 9 fill my life with love, laughter, and sometimes a lot of stress. 

And a really cute husband helps me keep it real and to not take things in life so seriously. 

We have made a home in Nebraska, but our roots are still in Oklahoma.

The shop Daily Salutations opened just last month 

and came from the passion I have of writing letters and crafting. 

I started writing my Grandmother 14 years ago when right out of high school 

I got married and moved from Oklahoma to North Carolina; 

thousands of miles from my family & friends.

The monthly letter writing tradition continued until she passed away just this year. 

Finding myself having a hard time picking up the pen to write letters again, 

I knew I needed something to encourage myself AND others to keep writing. 

So began the creation of my sewn cards. No need for long detailed letters... 

just send someone a short and sweet "hello"... 

we all love getting mail. And fancy hellos are the best!
