he is here

i am painfully aware that i have not been "talking" much here lately.
painfully because i have lots i could be sharing, so much it hurts a bit.
plenty i want to write. but the time isn't right, you know?

christmas is one thing on my mind that i can freely spill about!
this sharing christmas series is rockin' my socks,
we've enjoyed some sweet guests so far, yes?

as i shared last week, the reason for the season, jesus.
he's on my mind. i'm making an effort to keep him front and center.

something i realized though:
it isn't me who keeps him anywhere.
he is here. right here. even when i ignore him.
even when i hurry past him to figure things out, fix things on my own.
here he is, gently reminding me that he carries us through each day.
the fun, festive activity-filled ones. the difficult tear soaked ones, too. every day.
today i'm looking to him. my redeemer.
praising him for this season and the greatest gift he gave.
i'm clinging to him, not letting go. resting in his strength.
asking him to help me ackowledge his presence fully.
remember this quote?

"are you despondent or discouraged?
if so, speak now to the lord who dwells
within your heart. say to him that
you know you have been redeemed.
acknowledge his presence and his character
as being more than worthy of praise.
ask him to kindle a song.
have it on your lips
even if you do not feel it in your heart.
ask him to give you a realization
of the truth of your singing,
for then praise will go to your heart
as you yield to your song of praise
to the lord."

even when i feel like i don't care about christmas,
that swaddled babe, grace, giving or anything at all...
i can ask him to help me. and he does. praise jesus!

I love you, O LORD, my strength.
The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer,
my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
I call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised,
and I am saved from my enemies.
psalm 18:1-3

    Surrounded by our praises

    He is here
    The promise of our King
To you our lives we bring
    Let your glory be revealed

    Joy to the World
Peace to all who love Him
    The Savior has been born
    And all of heaven smiles

    Glory to God
