a thank you note

when was the last time you wrote one?
when was the last time you could have written one?

god gave you a gift of 86,400 seconds today.
have you used one to say “thank you"?
{william arthur ward}

any time someone shows you a kindness, it is a delightful thing to express your thanks.
ultimately, every gift is from god. you thank god in prayer.
you also thank him by thanking others. get it?

 giving thanks always and for everything
to god the father in the name of our lord jesus christ.
{ephesians 5:20}

the smallest act of kindness
is worth more than the grandest intention.
{oscar wilde}

a thank you note doesn't have to take much time, and doesn't even require many words.

that last 'thank you' note you received.
did it really matter how much it said?
i bet it warm fuzzied up your heart just getting it at all!
the simplest of correspondence can brighten someone's day and yours.
it is nice to be appreciated, yes?

even if you haven't recently been given a gift, or had someone save your life...
if there is gratitude in your heart.
toward friends, family, a co-worker...
get it out of your heart and onto some paper.
send it. let them know you are thankful for them!

and on that note,
i am thankful
for each of you.
sweetest readers i ever did know.
i am so encouraged, strengthened and challenged for good by you.
xo

this week begins thankful on paper.
i encourage you to participate in this beautiful project.
let it be a beginning to much note writing and many thanks.

  7. I really agree with you about the Thank you notes. I feel that it's a lost "art" if you will. I wish people would do it more. My dad ALWAYS made me write thank you notes for Christmas, birthdays, etc. People really appreciate knowing you enjoyed what they gave you.

  10. Hannah, this is SO TRUE! Has it ever happened to you, that expressing your thanks and sending a note makes YOU feel good, too? I have caught myself feeling this way before and it's funny how it just works out that way. Gratitude is like the gift that keeps on giving. :)

    I will admit that in the age of email and texts, I don't send as many thank you notes as I once did, but your post is a greate reminder and I'm going to get back to that. Snail mail doesn't have to be all about bills now, does it? :)

    Have a beautiful day, friend! xoxo
