a thank you note

when was the last time you wrote one?
when was the last time you could have written one?

god gave you a gift of 86,400 seconds today.
have you used one to say “thank you"?
{william arthur ward}

any time someone shows you a kindness, it is a delightful thing to express your thanks.
ultimately, every gift is from god. you thank god in prayer.
you also thank him by thanking others. get it?

 giving thanks always and for everything
to god the father in the name of our lord jesus christ.
{ephesians 5:20}

the smallest act of kindness
is worth more than the grandest intention.
{oscar wilde}

a thank you note doesn't have to take much time, and doesn't even require many words.

that last 'thank you' note you received.
did it really matter how much it said?
i bet it warm fuzzied up your heart just getting it at all!
the simplest of correspondence can brighten someone's day and yours.
it is nice to be appreciated, yes?

even if you haven't recently been given a gift, or had someone save your life...
if there is gratitude in your heart.
toward friends, family, a co-worker...
get it out of your heart and onto some paper.
send it. let them know you are thankful for them!

and on that note,
i am thankful
for each of you.
sweetest readers i ever did know.
i am so encouraged, strengthened and challenged for good by you.

this week begins thankful on paper.
i encourage you to participate in this beautiful project.
let it be a beginning to much note writing and many thanks.

linking up with jami!

    .......because ya never know when your time or their's will be up, with no more chances to tell them how much they mean to you!

    Love you my Northern friend!

  6. love love love! i keep recommending this book but it's just so good. choosing gratitude. grab a copy and enjoy it this nov.

  7. I really agree with you about the Thank you notes. I feel that it's a lost "art" if you will. I wish people would do it more. My dad ALWAYS made me write thank you notes for Christmas, birthdays, etc. People really appreciate knowing you enjoyed what they gave you.

  8. Your gratitude is infectious. :) What sweet cards.

  9. new follower!

    I found you through followers fest! What a beautiful blog. I have a Christmas series going on with a Christmas post a day for 50 days and it just started! You should check it out!

  10. Hannah, this is SO TRUE! Has it ever happened to you, that expressing your thanks and sending a note makes YOU feel good, too? I have caught myself feeling this way before and it's funny how it just works out that way. Gratitude is like the gift that keeps on giving. :)

    I will admit that in the age of email and texts, I don't send as many thank you notes as I once did, but your post is a greate reminder and I'm going to get back to that. Snail mail doesn't have to be all about bills now, does it? :)

    Have a beautiful day, friend! xoxo

  11. Oh why do you put such beautiful little things up and now I HAVE to have them!?!? haha..just kiddin'. But oh my word, I have never seen such beauteous thank you notes. How I'd love to write in those little boogers. I just ADORE!

  15. My mama done raised me up good... I always write thank you notes. Religiously. People think I'm weird. It's just something that the masses don't do anymore...

    Love this post.

    I am thankful for YOU, too. ;0)

  16. i love those thank you notes.

    i always send thank you notes. my kids always send thank you notes. this summer my FIL said "you are so good about your kids always sending thank you notes. that's really nice." its nice someone noticed. i want my children to be gracious and show thanks. even if many people don't sen them anymore. plus its fun to get mail that isn't a bill or junk mail :O) you know it will brighten someones day.

    love your heart friend!
