faithful

by faith sarah herself
received power to conceive,
even when she was past the age,
since she considered him faithful
who had promised.
{hebrews 11:11 esv}

"upon god's faithfulness rests our whole hope of future blessedness.
only as he is faithful will his covenants stand and his promises be honored.
only as we have complete assurance that he is faithful
may we live peace and look forward with assurance to the life to come.
every heart can make its own application of this truth.
the tempted, the anxious, the fearful, the discouraged
may all find new hope and good cheer
in the knowledge that our heavenly father is faithful.
he will always be true to his pledged word.
the hard-pressed sons of the covenant may be sure that
he will never remove his loving-kindness from them nor allow his faithfulness to fail."
{a.w. tozer}

I’ll praise my Maker while I’ve breath,
And when my voice is lost in death,
Praise shall employ my nobler powers;
My days of praise shall ne’er be past,
While life, and thought, and being last,
Or immortality endures.

Why should I make a man my trust?
Princes must die and turn to dust;
Vain is the help of flesh and blood:
Their breath departs, their pomp, and power,
And thoughts, all vanish in an hour,
Nor can they make their promise good.

Happy the man whose hopes rely
On Israel’s God: He made the sky,
And earth, and seas, with all their train:
His truth for ever stands secure;
He saves th’oppressed, He feeds the poor,
And none shall find His promise vain.

The Lord has eyes to give the blind;
The Lord supports the sinking mind;
He sends the labr’ing conscience peace;
He helps the stranger in distress,
The widow, and the fatherless,
And grants the pris’ner sweet release.

He loves His saints, He knows them well,
But turns the wicked down to hell;
Thy God, O Zion! ever reigns:
Let every tongue, let every age,
In this exalted work engage;
Praise Him in everlasting strains.

I’ll praise Him while He lends me breath,
And when my voice is lost in death,
Praise shall employ my nobler powers;
My days of praise shall ne’er be past,
While life, and thought, and being last,
Or immortality endures.

  1. God is always faithful, even when we cannot see it or understand it. He never leaves us without. He never leaves us empty. He is our filler and our protector, our comforter, our Savior! :)

  7. Loved this! This line especially stood out to me "Why should I make a man my trust? Princes must die and turn to dust", too often I find myself worrying about what everyone else thinks instead of focusing on what my Maker thinks. Thanks again for yet another wonderful post!

  8. Beautiful.

    I was just thinking of 1 John 1:9 and how He is faithful to forgive. Oh, to be caught in the grace of our King!

    And I love that Etsy print!
