sugar for my soul

i'm snuggled up in a hotel bed,
with my husband and son snoring away right beside me.
we're in california!
i'm truly exhausted, in the very best way, so i'll be brief.

i attended blog sugar sunday night. there are likely many posts to come,
sharing all of the incredible highlights of this intimate conference.
for now, i want to tell you one very important thing:
my socks were rocked.
i was unprepared for the joy that lifted me right off the ground.
meeting bloggers that i adore, glean from and pray for. face to face.
through these meetings, i was reminded that even blogging, especially blogging, can glorify god.
this isn't about me. this isn't about my stories.
this is about christ being known.
connecting.
nurturing.
comforting.
laughing.
sharing.
encouraging.
for his glory.

i just read this and it hit me extra hard after this weekend's focus:

Let us judge our Christianity,
not only by our dependence upon Jesus,
but by our love to him,
our conformity to him,
our knowledge of him.
Give us a religion that is both real
and progressive,
that holds on its way and grows stronger,
that lives and works in the Spirit,
   that profits by every correction,
and is injured by no carnal indulgence.
{valley of vision}

i can't wait to share more of the delightful bits from my most amazing weekend.
overwhelmed and overjoyed, that's me right now;)

linked up with jami-just one friend i met this past weekend!

  14. I feel exactly the same way Hannah - overwhelmed and overjoyed. Kind of in a way I can't put into words yet, but in a way that will change how I live and what I do with my blog. I was thrilled to meet you and even gave you a little shout out on my post today. Even though I hated to name names, I couldn't not personally thank a few of the ladies who inspire me daily.

  34. Well well well. I am trying to imagine meeting you for the first time....yeah it would be pretty great!

Well this morning I enjoyed driving to work in your car, surrounded by your car smell (fyi your car(s) have smelled the same since ...forever.

and i enjoyed listening to your tunes. first p.trixie's hiphop...then some of your marney..whatever that guys name is...you're right I DO LOVE HIM.

ANYWAY. your car is so nice. the leather seats...the seat heater....wowowoowow. such luxury. i WON'T tell you how i hypothetically couldn't figure out how to turn the headlights on.......

i love you! glad you had fun. i will have to come up with a conference for you to attend here so as to not let you get bored.

Maybe "Gear Down for Freeze Your Butt Off 2011"

or "Wii Wiil Laugh Lots 2011"

or "Hornets Convention 2011"...wait we've already been attending that conference since august....

    see ya tomorrow!
