national adoption month

has slipped by me barely acknowledged! *gasp*

it's been almost two years since this photo was taken. this was the very first time i held my baby boy. the very first time he heard his name, elijah grey. whew! were we ever excited and overwhelmed! god provided for us to be able to be at the hospital for his birth. what a gift. awaiting our first adoption, we really expected to not even get a newborn, much less be there. today, i am just as thrilled to be this baby's mama!

i can hardly believe he'll be two next month. yikes.
moving across country last summer changed our plans.
we didn't have concrete plans, just desires really, to adopt more children.
we now have a new state, new laws to learn, different finances...
things are back at square one.
i certainly will remember it next year. who knows,
maybe a new kiddo will be on the horizon then?
did you know this month was adoption awareness month?
will you pray for us, other waiting adoptive families
and orphans who need families?

I will sing to the LORD,
because he has dealt bountifully with me.
PSALM 13:6esv

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing,
give thanks in all circumstances;
for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
1 THESSALONIANS 5:16-18esv

He gives the barren woman a home,
making her the joyous mother of children.
Praise the LORD!
PSALM 113:9esv

Commit your work to the LORD,
and your plans will be established.
PROVERBS 16:3esv

"I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you."
JOHN 14:18esv

  1. It is amazing how time flys!!! He is just gorgeous! Would LOVE for you to add your story to our Adoption Blog Hop!

  2. Hannah, I did not know it was National Adoption Month but I glad I know now! It reminds me not only of the blessing of adoption here on earth but that I am an adopted daughter into the Kingdom of God! WOOT!!! I will be praying. Hurray for Adoption!!

  3. @penelope OF COURSE:)

@elizabeth thanks so much, sweet friend!

  4. Elijah Grey is a cutie-patootie and he's blessed to have such wonderful parents. I hope that you are able to add many more children to to the Singer clan! And, maybe, just maybe ... one of these days I'll get a chance to take pictures of your handsome son. (:

  5. I always loved the pics of you looking "wonderlingly"(I know, not a word) into EG's face! Def a picture of loving Motherhood! I WILL pray along with you and Patrick for another addition to your fam!

  6. You have my prayers as well. You are terrific parents! And there are so many needy kids out there who need Christian parents to rear them to know Jesus! I just read Mary Beth (wife of Steven Curtis) Chapman's book about their sweet girl they lost a couple years ago; good book, but the point I am making here is they have an organization that helps people be able to adopt! It is called Show Hope. May be a place to check out, I don't know. I do know they give grants...anyway, we will be praying for the next Singer to be added...God already knows, isn't that exciting? (I think so....)

  7. I dropped over here from the blog hop :). Your picture is beautiful. What a blessing!!! The Proverbs 16:3 hit me today for some reason. Thank you!
