a christmas carol

"I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year. I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future.
The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me.
I will not shut out the lessons that they teach."

this is one of my very favorite stories.
and this film adaptation is my favorite. in my opinion, george c. scott completely captures the ebeneezer scrooge character. from his beginning bah humbugs to his heartwarming redemption in the end, perfection! my favorite person to watch it with is my dad. i was thinking the other day, i must really love this story and this movie as much as i do because of him! often i begin crying at the very beginning of the movie, just thinking of how empty and grumpy scrooge is and how i know he'll "get saved", honor christmas and become a giver and a friend!! it just makes me weep! ahhh! and when i watch it, i pretend my pops is watching and crying with me:)

{also, my second favorite version of this story
is the muppet one! ha!
if you haven't seen it, you must, it is brilliant.}

  1. Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol is my absolute favorite. Mistaking a turkey for a man. Thieves throwing flowers. Scrooge singing a duet with himself. A cartoon AND a musical telling Scrooge's story.
