i posted this on facebook yesterday.
i wanted to share it here too because i think it is wonderful! encouragement to say no to lazy and yes to responsibility!
we can do it!
this excerpt is from unclutterer, a really fun website!
(if you are a dork like me)
At the heart of uncluttering, organizing, productivity, and all the issues we discuss here on Unclutterer is personal responsibility. If you don’t change your behavior, if you don’t take responsibility for your actions, you will continue on the same path you’re dreading. As long as you are of sound mind and body, only YOU can change your life.
You can get to work on the project and meet the deadline.
You can put your clothes in the hamper at night.
You can sort through the clothes in your closet and keep only the items that fit, look good on you, and represent the person you want to be.
You can create a meal plan and stick to it.
You can organize your linen closet.
You can return e-mails within a timely manner.
You can sort through your mail immediately when you walk in your house.
You can use a calendar and plan your day.
You can take a risk.
You can be happy right now.
You can follow your dreams.
i believe that when we have clear minds and a clutter free life, we are more able to see what god has for us to do and to do it. i fight laziness. fight with me!?
every day has 24 hours filled with opportunities to grow, serve, and be productive. it is so easy to waste time, letting life slip from our grasp. instead, refuse to be a lazy person, squandering hours meant for productive work. see time as god's gift and seize opportunities to live for him!
"A slack hand causes poverty,
but the hand of the diligent makes rich.
He who gathers in summer is a prudent son,
but he who sleeps in harvest is a son who brings shame."
"As iron sharpens iron, friend sharpens friend."
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
